Talented Artist

I first met Daren at the Stamp Out Mental Health Stigma Carnival which i was involved in some time ago. I was taken by his wonderful talent. His drawings depict his struggles with depression and subsequently bipolar disorder throughout the past 23 years. His story also highlights the need for early intervention, as most mental health disorders are treatable and can be managed. They are also easier to manage and treat when acted upon in the early stages. He just recently got all his works organized online, i can't imagine the amount of scanning he has to do, so here's another indie talent to support. =) His writings are at http://www.dlauchengco-writings.blogspot.com while his drawings are at http://dlauchengco-gallery.blogspot.com. I've got 2 prints from him and i'm really happy with them. Samantha was inspired from a suggestion by K. I know by now you must be thinking that was eons ago! Lol. I had to think of ways to adapt and make it my own style and i've been sourcing for good quality materials even though these are just feathers. At least take comfort that they didn't come from some feather duster used to spank me when I was a kid. I've teamed the black feathers with swarovski bling chain, definitely a head turner. Sparkly, sassy, perfect for a dinner date, prom night or just the night out with the girls. Samantha's approx. 11.5cm long excluding silver plated earhooks. For sensitive ears, you can top up $1 for surgical steel earhooks.

Carrie - SOLD

Carrie features rose quartz twist nuggets and polymer clay rounds from Karin's latest brocade series. The rose quartz are a soft, pink tone which goes well with the petals of the flowers on the rounds. Carrie measures approx. 5.5cm excluding 14k gold plated earhooks.

Some of you might have received a mailer about my upcoming flea stall at St James on the 7th Oct. That was one of the features of Google Calendar, which allows me to forward an invitation to people in my address book. I've put up a poll on the right column, let me know if you like the idea of receiving such updates via email or not. I will still update on the blog whenever I have events, as not everyone's on my address book i'm sure. I definitely don't want to be spamming you guys with info which you'd prefer to glean off the blog than have it shoved into your mailboxes. So let me know! Victorian Punk - SOLD

Amethyst terminated point crystals wrapped in art deco filigree on gun metal toned chain. I made several of these last week while stressing over my thesis and tearing my hair out, so here it is on a chain that I got my brother to buy over the weekend for me. Thesis will be finally over this week, a huge burden off my back which I can't wait for!! Freedom! Anyway digressing. Lol. Have to say this style is not my own, but inspired by Bombalurina and several other european artists (All Those Threes, 1 of my kind) who makes this style of accessories. I loved it so much and when finally the local stores had the parts and i had the beads, i simply had to make it share with you girls this really pretty style! Ok less storytelling and more about the necklace. 23" gun metal chain. Watch out for more of these over the week! (If I allow myself time away from my thesis that is.)

A Bug's Life - SOLD

Well albeit a cute one at that. Butterflies and dragonflies and little lady bugs await to adorn your slender wrists. Of cloisonne, enamel and acrylic, these bugs definitely won't die on you and will cutesy their way into your heart. Measures 7", the little charms sit on a 14K gold plated chain and ends with a 14k gold plated floral toggle. If you're adventurous and want me to add more flowers and charms, drop me a mail and i'll see what I can do. ;p

Citronella - SOLD

When i look at these lovely yellow citrine beads i feel so light and happy all at the same time. Using imported citrine rondelles and citrine marquis beads, this light infusion of fresh air and cheer is rather intoxicating (in a good way). Wires used for this creation is goldfilled and 14k gold plated earhooks. Citronella measures 3.5cm excluding earhooks.

The Blacks & Whites - SOLD

Mexican zebra jasper faceted tube beads dangling off one and another for movement. Wear it with your hair up or down, the black and whites will stand out naturally. Measures 3.7cm excluding rhodium ear hooks.

Jada - SOLD

Gold plated connectors with a flower stamping takes center stage, with little drops of green onyx that was bought on an overseas trip by Bianca. This petite pair is regal and pretty at the same time. 14k gold plated fancy hooks and goldfilled wires were used for this pair. Jada measures 3cm excluding earhooks.

Vuelo - SOLD

Vuelo is the spanish word for flight. May your dreams take flight as mine has. Similar to Claire, this time with rectangle moss agate slices with 14k gold plated swallow charms. Vuelo measures 3.2cm x 1.8cm. Dimensions exclude length of ear hooks.

Flea To The Bar

Yep I'll be having a stall outside Ice Cold Beer at Lee Kong Chian School of Business in SMU. It's directly facing CHIJMES and diagonally across the junction is Stamford House. I've linked a map for your reference. I most probably won't be loading new stuff this week, so I'll just bring all my new goodies there! If time permits I'll try to take some photos of the goodies and give you girls a lil' sneak peek! See ya!

Glass By Sarah Necklace

I keep forgetting to post up this picture even though i've gotten the permission from the owner of this necklace. Finally here it is, the last of the beautiful beads that are handcrafted by Sarah Hornik. It's really amazing and I'm surprised that you girls loved the glass beads as much as I did! At least now I know i'm moving in the right direction. Hopefully I'll get to work with more of her beautiful beads in the near future!

Strawberries & Peaches - SOLD

Strawberry quartz rounds, rectangles, strawberries & peach tone swirl lentils from Charlene, peach aventurine carved flower and swarovski crystal in pink make up this piece that is named after the hues used in this creation. Velma will drape her lithe long self on your neck while showing off her exquisite bits ala Velma in Hairspray over Wilbur. Imported buffalo turquoise puff rectangles, semi precious stone fish (similar to the carved seahorse in Swimmingly Good), polymer clay pillow in mocha and matching tones in rounds with 14K gold plated chain. A gold plated toggle closure completes the 26" necklace. No remakes. Comes in a gift box.

Swimmingly Good - SOLD

Carved seahorse (of semi precious stone), lone swarovski pearl and 14k gold plated school of fishies make this piece a lil' whimsical and fun! Thinking of fairy tales yet?

Edna - SOLD

Edna's a little garden fairy who watches over all the garden gnomes who keep your little garden flourishing with what you think are just the works of some sun, water and fertilizer. She sits atop this seafoam quartz faceted pendant while she lords over those hardworking little people. Pictured is how the pendant will drop as it is side drilled so I have dangled the 4cm x 3cm pendant on its side in the same angle that the fairy sits. Edna's gotta sit comfortably on her throne doesn't she. 14k gold plated chain measures 26".

Jacinta - SOLD

Muscovite heart on nylon coated string, necklace length is adjustable to a maximum of 26". The heart pendant measures 4.3cm tall and 4cm wide. When I first saw this heart I knew I had to buy it and it'll look so lovely on a nylon or leather cord. Decided to go with this variating colored string instead of the usual black leather cord. If you prefer it with other necklace options i'm always open to suggestions. =) No remakes.

Aubrey's a lovely necklace that incorporates lots of pretty clay beads from Karin and Jacqueline. Yup the lovely japanese looking bead is handmade by Jacqueline too! Onyx rounds and a loevly rhinestone ring helps to give that extra little touch to complete this necklace at 29inches. I've included a toggle clasp, which is not pictured in the photos. If you prefer it without the toggle it'll measure 28 inches. No remakes.

Eve - SOLD

Charlene's polymer clay teardrop with swirls of mocha and chocolate. Mmm Yum yum! Topped with a pair of rhodonite carved flowers from Japan, Eve is like a pair of chocolate topped with strawberry flowers sitting in the box screaming "Eat me!" or in this case "Bring me home!!" Maybe that screaming will prompt you to take petite Eve home. Eve measures 3.3cm excluding 14K gold plated ear hooks. This is an exclusive piece with no remakes.

Gerraine - SOLD

Gerraine features lovely black and white lentils with uniquely shaped hexagonal polymer clay beads by a local crafter Charlene. On the other side a carved onyx butterfly flutters to match the source of inspiration for this batch of polymer clay beads. Strung on white agate rondelles and swarovski crystals as spacers, Gerraine's a creation in my favourite color combi. I simply love classic styles and combos! Gerraine measures approx. 19inches including rhodium plated dragonfly toggle.
